Anyone who loves Wynnewood Valley Park is a Friend of Wynnewood Valley Park.
If you are saddened by the loss of foliage that occurred during the streambed restoration, then you will be excited by the opportunity to help replace the foliage using native pollinator plants! Thanks to Michelle Detwiler of Wild About Native Plants for her recommendations, and to Lower Merion Township for purchasing most of the plants.
We are asking Friends of Wynnewood Valley Park to come out and help with the replanting on Sunday, April 25, 1-4 pm. No experience is necessary. There will be lead volunteers who will provide guidance and instructions. If you have gardening tools, please bring them. Please bring your own reusable water bottles to keep yourself hydrated. Masks are required.
Advance registration is required. Click here to fill out the volunteer registration/waiver form.
Our past Earth Day Celebrations have consisted of activity tables, environmental presentations, plant sales, and a silent auction. It has always been a nice opportunity to catch up with neighbors and friends. This year we want to foster that sense of community while maintaining social distance by focusing all of our efforts on making permanent improvements to this wonderful park.
The Penn Wynne Civic Association and the Friends of Wynnewood Valley Park hope you will join us in this celebration of Earth Day and in memory of David Barrett who founded and led Friends of Wynnewood Valley Park for many years.
The work will be organized by households in order to maximize social distancing in accordance with the CDC guidelines for public gatherings?
